About Hawkins Education

My name is Sarmila and I am an English teacher. I was born in Germany but moved to London as a young child and have lived in England for just over 22 years. I have a British accent and am keen to help speakers of other languages to feel confident in speaking, reading and writing English. I also speak German and can teach both adults and children up to GCSE level or High School standard. I am very patient with students and feel enthusiastic about helping others to learn a new language.

I studied the methods and principles of language education at University as good preparation to teach. I also have a TESOL certificate which helped me to understand the needs of different types of learners.

Learning takes place in a very pleasant atmosphere. The level of learning was chosen individually to my level. The proposed forms of learning and the methods that Sarmila uses help me enrich my English. She has great knowledge and ability to teach in a simple way. The classes are conducted in a communicative manner and adapted to the individual student. I have learnt a lot in the last 2 months. Lessons are conducted online and thanks to that I don't have to waste time commuting and I can spend more time studying.
